Saturday mornings at our house are usually busy with odd jobs and small projects. A week or so ago, I took a trip to IKEA with my best friend and picked up three of the BEKVÄM spice racks for $4.99 each! Well, they’re called spice racks, but I’ve seen them more commonly used as bookshelves. They were so easy to put together and didn’t take long to hang!
Of course, you know we used the laser level to mark the holes. The shelves didn’t come with hanging hardware, so we did have to find some screws/anchors to fit the keyhole slots.
We hung the lowest shelf at toddler height so that C can decided what to keep on it. He’s been enjoying picking out books to display. We call is “C curated” :-).
My favorite part about the shelves is that they fit juuuust about perfectly behind C’s bedroom door on otherwise unused wall space! And in a furniture-filled room like a nursery, wall space is a hot commodity.
I love the raw birch wood accent, as it really fits in with the neutral tones in C’s room. By the way, the walls are a dark gray, even though the lighting in these photos makes it look fairly light. Check out the rest of C’s cozy gray woodlands nursery (it’s my favorite room in the house!).
Thanks for stopping by!
