While I’m sitting here in the nursery staring at four different paint swatches on the wall, I thought it’d be fun to share our nursery planning process. I’ve been allll over the place deciding on a theme for the new room. For C’s room, I knew exactly what I wanted to do right away. This time I’ve been everywhere from zoo animals to retro space theme. So I decided it was time for a MOOD BOARD!
If I could give you one piece of advice when planning a nursery, I would say to browse nursery decor items that you love shopping for. For me it’s lamps and crib sheets. After finding something you love, plan all of your other pieces around that thing. I fell in love with these crib sheets from Target. The theme that emerged was a retro, colorful, and quirky teal nursery!
Tyler picked up just about every Behr paint swatch from blue to green and we put them on a ring. We’re still debating colors at the moment, but now that the crib sheets have arrived we’ll be able to narrow it down!
We also ordered the dresser (and matching nightstand) shown in my mood board! Don’t worry, we’ll totally fill you guys in on our experience with Wayfair and include links to all of our decor when we finish the nursery! For now, we’re just flipping through inspiration photos of other colorful nurseries. Here are some of my favorites…
As a side note, we looked at pricing for removable wallpaper and…. whoa, you guys. I’m not ready to spend that much. HOLY COW.
Love the quirky art pieces in the photo above!
This one is so dreamy and playful- I LOVE IT!
I’m having a lot of fun planning this space for our little nugget, even though I know he couldn’t care less about how the color palette comes together. We are so excited to share the final room and to bring out all of our baby boy stuff from storage! Stay tuned for that, and for the installation of our basement patio door which should be soon!
